{{title}} .

A focused program for anyone who wants to stop managing spreadsheets by hand and start letting systems do the repetitive work.

Program structure

What you'll work through, session by session.

Course structure

  • Module 1 - Auditing your current setup: what you track, what you guess, and where the gaps are
  • Module 2 - Connecting bank feeds: open banking, CSV imports, and Plaid integration options
  • Module 3 - Building auto-categorisation rules in YNAB and Google Sheets
  • Module 4 - Alerts and triggers: Slack notifications, email digests, and threshold warnings
  • Module 5 - Monthly review templates that pull live data automatically
  • Module 6 - Maintenance and edge cases: handling refunds, joint accounts, and irregular income

Each module includes a setup checklist, a short video walkthrough, and a live Q&A session recorded for async viewing.

About this program

What this course actually covers

Most people who struggle with budgeting are not bad at math - they are bad at consistency. Checking accounts weekly, categorising transactions by hand, updating spreadsheets after every purchase: it all collapses under normal life pressure. This course is about removing those manual steps.

You will learn how to connect your bank feeds to tools that categorise and report automatically, set rule-based alerts for overspending, and build a system that updates itself. We work with YNAB, Google Sheets with Apps Script, and Plaid-connected dashboards depending on your setup.

Who this is built for

Freelancers and small household managers who have tried budgeting before and dropped it. People who have a rough idea of their income and expenses but no reliable data. Anyone who has opened a budgeting app, entered data for two weeks, and then abandoned it.

You do not need programming experience. The scripting sections include templates you modify rather than write from scratch.

What the work looks like

Each module has a setup task - something you configure in your actual accounts, not a simulation. By week three, you will have a live dashboard pulling real transaction data. By week six, your monthly budget review should take under 20 minutes instead of an afternoon.

Honest expectations

Automation reduces friction, but it does not replace decisions. You still need to set category limits and review flagged transactions. The system handles the data collection; you handle the judgement calls. That division of labour is the point.

Aoife Brennan, a freelance illustrator from Cork, said the biggest shift was seeing her quarterly software costs aggregated automatically - she had been underestimating them by roughly a third.
