A focused program for anyone who wants to stop managing spreadsheets by hand and start letting systems do the repetitive work.
Program structure
What you'll work through, session by session.
Programme outline
- Module 1 - System audit: identifying manual steps that can be replaced with logic
- Module 2 - Multi-account architecture: structuring accounts for clean automated separation
- Module 3 - Workflow automation with Make: connecting banks, spreadsheets, and notification tools
- Module 4 - Rolling cash flow forecasting: building a self-updating 13-week projection
- Module 5 - Automated reconciliation: matching logic, duplicate detection, and tolerance rules
- Module 6 - Reporting pipelines: auto-generated monthly summaries sent to email or Notion
- Module 7 - Handling exceptions: refunds, foreign currency, split transactions, and account transfers
Includes access to a private workspace with pre-built templates for Google Sheets, Airtable, and Make scenarios. All templates are documented and modifiable.
Technical requirements

About this program
The gap between basic tracking and actual automation
There is a difference between a spreadsheet that holds your data and a system that processes it. Most intermediate budgeters land somewhere in between - they have categories, they import transactions, but they still spend hours each month making sense of the numbers. This course addresses that gap.
The focus is on building logic into your financial system: forecasting cash flow based on recurring patterns, reconciling across multiple accounts automatically, and generating reports without manual assembly. We use Google Apps Script, Airtable automations, and Make (formerly Integromat) for workflow connections.
Specific problems this course solves
If you run a small business alongside personal finances, you know how quickly account boundaries blur. This course includes a dedicated module on separation logic - rules that route transactions to the correct reporting context based on merchant, amount, or account of origin.
Forecasting is covered in depth. You will build a rolling 13-week cash flow projection that updates from live bank data, flags shortfalls two to three weeks ahead, and adjusts for known upcoming expenses like quarterly tax payments or annual subscriptions.
The reconciliation problem
Multi-account reconciliation is tedious precisely because small discrepancies compound. We cover a structured matching approach using transaction IDs and date-range tolerances, which catches duplicates and missed imports before they distort your monthly totals.
Prerequisites
You should already have a working budgeting system - categories defined, transactions imported regularly, at least one tool configured. This is not a beginner course. If you are starting from scratch, the Foundations course is the right starting point.
Tomasz Wierzbicki, who manages finances for a small design studio in Dublin, noted that the forecasting module alone changed how he scheduled client invoicing - he could see the cash gap before it happened rather than after.
